Ride

Terms of Use

Effective 26 August 2026

Agreement

Ride ("the app," "we," "us") is a horse riding app for trail riders: it records your rides, shows you trails, helps you find friends to ride with, and keeps your horse’s care in one place. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, which these terms supplement. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. By using the app you represent that you meet these requirements.

Your account

You are responsible for your account, for the security of the device and Apple ID you use to sign in, and for everything that happens under your account. Keep your credentials secure and do not share your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

The information you give us — including your display name and handle — must be accurate, and you must not impersonate another person or choose a handle you have no right to use.

Your content

You can post content other riders may see — a display name, a handle, comments on rides, and your ride and horse details when your profile or a follower makes them visible. You keep ownership of what you post, and you are responsible for it.

You grant us the limited license needed to store your content and show it to the riders you have chosen to share it with. You may delete your content or your account at any time from the Account screen.

Objectionable content — zero tolerance

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post, and not to use the app to send, anything that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory, or that infringes another person’s rights, and not to impersonate anyone or harass, bully, or intimidate another rider.

Accounts that post objectionable content or abuse other riders may have that content removed and may be suspended or permanently removed, without notice.

Reporting and enforcement

Every comment, profile, ride, meetup and meetup chat message can be reported from inside the app. Reports reach a person who reviews them.

We are committed to reviewing reports of objectionable content and taking action — removing content, and suspending or removing the responsible account where warranted — within 24 hours of the report.

You can also block any rider. Blocking someone removes any follow between you in both directions, stops either of you from following the other again, and hides your content and theirs from each other until you unblock them.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems, and do not use it to collect other riders’ information or to send spam. Use the app only for its intended purpose — logging and sharing your own riding.

Assumption of risk

Meetups are organised by other riders, not by us. If you choose to meet people you find through the app, you do so at your own risk: we do not screen riders or hosts, verify who they are, or supervise meetups. Meet in a public place where you can, tell someone where you are going, and use Report and Block if anyone makes you uneasy.

Horse riding and all equine activities are dangerous and involve inherent risks — including the risk of a horse behaving unpredictably, and of serious injury or death to you, to others, or to the animal. The app is a training log only: it is not veterinary, medical, training, or safety advice, and nothing in it is a substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional or for your own care around horses.

You understand and voluntarily accept these risks. Any decision you make about your horse, your riding, your equipment, or your health is your own. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release us from, and agree not to hold us responsible for, any injury, loss, or damage arising out of equine activities or out of any decision you make in connection with the app.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that your data will always be available. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the app — whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your content, your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and your choices — including how to delete your account and data. By using the app you also agree to our Privacy Policy. You can request a copy, or ask any question about your data, at [email protected].

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

If a dispute arises, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and give us at least 30 days to try to resolve it informally. If it cannot be resolved that way, you and we agree that the dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. This does not affect any rights you cannot waive under the law of the place where you live.

Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from the Account screen. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the app in a way that harms other riders, us, or the service. The sections on your content license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Apple Standard EULA

These terms supplement Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement.
